Energy Efficent

Tax incentives for Air conditioning installations

As part of the governments commitment to reducing the emission of gases responsible for global warming they have came up with tax incentives to encourage businesses to invest in low carbon, energy efficient equipment. The air conditioning units we fit fall into these schemes and are all  AA energy rated.  They want to encourage businesses to invest in modern air conditioning systems due to the units producing less carbon emissions for heating and cooling buildings over other methods like oil, electric or gas. Which in turn means cheaper energy bills for businesses plus Tax relief.

Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme

The enhanced capital allowance scheme from the government is designed to encourage businesses to invest in low carbon, energy saving equipment by  allowing 100% of the investment to be offset against taxable profits in the year the investment was made. This can bring significant financial benefits to businesses as well as improving their energy efficiency. Find out more at www.eca.gov.uk

Interest free Energy-Efficiency Loans

The carbon trust are offering energy-efficiency loans which are a cost effective way to replace or upgrade your old, expensive to run air conditioning equipment with a more energy efficient  system. The loan scheme is designed so that anticipated energy savings offset the repayments of the loan, which means the equipment pays for itself and will continue to make savings year on year.

Reduced VAT on home air conditioning systems

The government is offering a reduced VAT rate  to the supply and installation of heat pump air conditioning systems in residential property. By reducing the rate of VAT will encourage the increased use of such energy efficient product and will have a positive effect in reducing carbon emissions. With the standard rate of VAT now at 20% the reduced rate of 5% will make significant saving to the homeowner.
